First i would just like to say that this song is my favorite song at the current time, so naturally i love this song. But if i were to forget my love of John Mayer and his music, I still thing that i would love this song because, one the music is very good, and lyrically the songs was very well put together. Now about his message. There is a lot of people that i can relate to this song. My aunt and uncle were recently divorecd and the months leading up to the divorce i saw nothing wrong with their relationship. I think that this song is about that. These two people were at one time very much in love, they grew apart for what ever reason. I think that he is saying that he loves her still, and that she loves him, but that they cant be together anylonger. So they will put on a show and play the parts, they will dance, but their going down and there is nothing to be done to save them.
As i said before, this is an amazing song. John Mayer, himself, is quite incredible. And his ability with the guitar is unmatched.
